A little about my path…
If you have found yourself here, you are likely navigating a season of change and looking for a safe space to explore your experience.
You are in the right place.
I am passionate about supporting women through the many seasons of change that life brings, as I have experienced these challenges first-hand. My counselling practice and wellness offerings are informed by my lived experience, but I wasn't always a counsellor…
In 2016, I found myself lost and cracked open with a deep, unfathomable grief.
I sought counselling support, but I felt something missing. I knew I needed to heal my whole self — mind, body and spirit, and I kept asking myself: what does it actually mean to heal?
That question stayed with me. It led me to meditation and energy healing, and eventually to Kundalini yoga and meditation — a practice that changed everything. Through it, I rediscovered myself. I came back stronger, more grounded, more soulful and more authentically myself than I had ever been.
Today, The Hearth Space is where I bring together everything I have learned — through lived experience, professional counselling, and years of exploring what it means to heal as a whole person.
Away from my work, I am a woman who is still learning to live slowly.
I am mum to three spirited children, a wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. I am a first-generation Australian, and I spent my childhood on Yolŋu country.
I am a dedicated yogi, a creative soul, a border collie fanatic, & oh yes…I drink coffee.
My training, experience & therapeutic approach
I am a Master's-qualified Counsellor and a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA Level 2). Alongside building The Hearth Space, I continue to work in the health and community sector as a Perinatal Lived Experience Coach and Program Coordinator. Supporting women and families through pregnancy, early parenting and life's many transitions continues to shape and inform my practice. Today, I work with women navigating change across the lifespan, including the perinatal period, midlife and beyond.
My counselling approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based at its foundation, which simply means that I walk alongside you, creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move towards the life you want to live.
Rooted in the Rogerian tradition of Carl Rogers, my practice draws on my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and attachment theory, and alongside my developing training and experience in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). My work is also informed by my training and experience in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health, Circle of Security Parenting, and by perspectives from Narrative Therapy, somatic and embodied approaches, self-compassion and mindfulness. Rather than following a single therapeutic model, I practice as an integrative counsellor, thoughtfully drawing together these perspectives to meet each woman’s individual needs and circumstances.
Alongside counselling, I am also a Kundalini yoga and meditation teacher and a Reiki practitioner. These practices offer additional pathways for women who wish to explore a more integrated approach to their wellbeing, while counselling remains at the heart of my practice.
I offer individual counselling online Australia-wide, Walk and Talk counselling, and in-person counselling in the greater Brisbane area. I also facilitate Women's Circles, Kundalini meditation and Reiki sessions. If you're unsure where to begin, I offer a complimentary 10-minute connection call to help you decide whether The Hearth Space feels like the right fit for you.
